HL: The "pillow talking stage" is always there in a ldr .

One of the few reasons why I love long distance - you get to know the person each day . You grow closer and closer to them by getting to know the real them . Not who they are with their friends, not who they act like around other people but the real her/him . 

You might think that people in ldr’s are all lovey dovey but it’s not . Like any other relationship they have small and huge arguments . The ones that leave you and that person on the verge of falling apart . That’s why I have mad respect for those in long distance relationships who’ve made it this far and put up with the lack of sleep, waiting, not being able to make up an argument as easily as a physical relationship, all of that .

The pillow talking stage is an important part in every relationship, it’s one of the first few steps . But what happens when you’re in a ldr and you never move from it ? You might think that that’s it but it’s not . This is where your love is really tested . See that’s the thing, you also learn a lot more in these types of relationships .

Patience; how long you’re willing to wait to see them again, weeks, months, years ? You have no choice but to talk on the phone or webcam . 

You learn to care less about looks because you’ve grown so accustom to their voice, their personality and how they not their looks but them as a person make you feel . 

Trust; every type of relationships NEEDS trust, especially this kind . Without trust you two are just going to fall apart . You can’t check up on them, read their text messages to see whoelse they’re talking to .

Hormonal issues; there’s no sex, sorry . So you learn to get comfortable and have phone sex lol .

But when the distance is gone you can finally turn around and tell the world that you two made it through . And it’s all through a simple sound of their voice .
